I Spy Friday

Another week has flown by and it's time to share some of the things I've spotted.
I have to apologize.
It's Friday evening and I'm lazy tired.
So, a lot of pictures but not a lot of words.

Spring is in the air and it seems that everyone wants to be outside.

On Sunday, we walked to the local pub, The Cock & Barrel.
Great place to sit outside and read or people watch.

That evening we tried Mexican again at Loco Mexicano.
The decor included murals of Cuba. (?)

The nachos were made with Doritos and had green olives on them. (?)
The Mexican restaurants here usually include BBQ on their menus.  (?)
Everything is just a bit off.
But, as long as you realize it's not what you get at home, the food tastes great.

 Monday was another beautiful day.
We walked along the Thames to the Tate Britain Museum.

It's not my favorite of the London Museums, but they have some great pieces and it's a beautiful building.

Today, we visited some of the large department stores on Oxford Street.
They are amazing.  Like theme parks.

The Fortnum & Mason all ready for the Diamond Jubilee.

Several of the stores have sections where you can find your American favorites.

Bacon popcorn?  Ew.  A-1 Steak Sauce?  Yay!

That's about a $15 cake.

I needed to stock up.  The Flipz were the the best!!

For lunch today, I met up with an old friend of Matt's and a new friend of mine.
She is wonderful and we had a great time.

She also introduced me to Dim Sum which was so nummy.
It's Chinese bite-size dishes to share.

This guy accompanied me on the tube.  Looks like he's a regular, huh?

The lady across from him was eating a cupcake and he didn't take his eyes off of her.

And these guys were on patrol on Oxford St.

I am absolutely falling in love with London.  What an amazing city?

You can step off at any tube station, explore just a few blocks
and come across the most amazing sights.

There is a treat around every corner.

You can really be a Beau Brummel, baby, if you just give it half the chance.

The weeks are flying by.
We have extended the lease in Notting Hill through the 1st week in April.
We are still waiting on the magic phone call and confident that it will come soon.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check in with me.

  1. Don't know if you checked back with my blog comments/answers or not, but we'll be in Italy May 9 - 17. Fly into Rome on the 9th, then up to Florence, then Venice then Milan. Fly out of Milan I think on the 16th or 17th.

    Glad you found your A1!

  2. WOW! It's so much fun to explore London through these photos. First - love those sunglasses, lol. Second - we've noticed the BBQ at the 'mexican' restaurants. What gives, England? Third - there is a bacon flavor for everything. I'm waiting to find bacon toothpaste. Fourth - thank you for that photo of Brummel. I like him. ;) Fourth - converting prices generally horrifies me. UK is so expensive. Fifth (yes, fifth!) - how can you pass those meringues and not try one??

Carry on! Glad you're staying in your cool Notting Hill flat longer!
