Charming Eastbourne

There's something very unique about an English seaside town.
Especially one with a Victorian pier.
Promenade, candy shops, fish & chips, an arcade and lots of seagulls.
Not to mention, a pebble beach.  Full of quirk and fun.

One of the most popular is Brighton which I've visited a few times and just love.
But, recently I spent a weekend in another English seaside resort about 17 miles east of Brighton.
It was just as unique and quirky and not nearly as crowded.

We went with a group of friends and rented a big Victorian house for the weekend.
It's becoming an annual thing.  Last year was Ramsgate.
Picture tons of food and wine, playing board games late into the night.  Loads of fun!

On Sunday, everyone scattered for a little quiet time or a nap.
I grabbed my camera and went for a walk on the beachfront to snap some photos.
It was such a lovely way to spend an hour or so in the midst of a festive weekend.

There's quite a few photos.  I hope you don't mind.
I love the photo of the seagull mid-flap.

  1. I lived in England about nine years ago...this post brings back the sweetest memories. I've never been to Eastbourne, but I've been to Cornwall and Brighton. England has so many hidden gems...my only wish is that one day I can go back. :)

  4. I have never been seaside in the UK! But your photos are enticing so maybe the next time around, the UK is just an ocean away for me!

It has been years and years since I was at Eastbourne and you have brought so many happy memories back to me! My favourite seaside town has to be Southend on Sea for its brilliant pier, but for the Victorian love in me, it has to be Hunstanton in Norfolk. x
