Portobello Market

Still waiting on the magic phone call, but we decided to go ahead and set up house in London.  We found a flat in Notting Hill, signed a 6-week lease and moved in last weekend.  It's a great area and we are looking forward to exploring.  It feels so good to finally be in London.

The past two Saturdays we walked over to Portobello Market.  It's a famous antique and farmer's market that began in the 1800's and has been drawing locals and tourist ever since.

I'm feeling lazy today, so I won't be using my words.  Fortunately, a picture is worth a thousand.

  3. Wow you're super lucky you are getting to live in Notting Hill! What a fantastic spot! I worked in Notting Hill last summer so really love that area! Westbourne Grove which isn't so far away is also another great place to check out (if you haven't already). There is Melt Chocolates (which are amazing) Ottolenghi's (which have really interesting and tasty sweet treats, cakes and pastries) Tom's Deli (which again has great cupcakes, and savoury dishes, and even a few American sweets/groceries if I remember correctly if you're missing anything in particular!) and they also have a pretty new restaurant opened up by a famous Aussie called Granger & Co which my sisters tried a few weeks back and said it was amazing. There's Pizza East in Portobello, I've only tried the one in Shoreditch but their pizzas are some of the best. There's also a great Mexican in Westbourne Grove called Crazy Homies and right beside it is an American diner called Lucky 7 which does awesome thick shakes! Also High St Ken is just a tube stop away, I love the shopping there and of course the massive Whole Foods and you should try out My Old Dutch - they do enormous savoury and sweet pancakes and are so tasty. Sorry didn't mean for this comment to get so long - as you can tell I like food! haha just had to share some of my fave places with you :)
