You'll never guess where I'm writing this. Well, actually you probably will. I'm in Texas! I was supposed to fly home on August 8th and stay for three weeks. But as the birth of my first grand baby approached, the possibility of not being here for the birth took over my thoughts. All signs point to this baby coming early and I had to get here.

Macro at Kew Gardens
So, how are you? I'm doing good.
Very busy with work, but counting the days until half-term.
Matt's home from a guy's trip to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Don't ask my why they pick these freezing cold places to visit in the dead of winter,
but I've convinced him that he needs to write a blog post.
It's been too long since he's written a guest post, don't you agree?
Jessica is now in her second trimester and doing great.
The nausea has eased up a bit and she seems to be sleeping better.
We're having so much fun dreaming of the future with this little baby!
It's difficult being so far away when I'm just dying to touch her and that adorable bump.
She's been so sweet about keeping me up-to-date on everything.
The shopping helps, too!
We're home from a lovely weekend away from London.
My instagram feed is now full of some of my favorite photos from picturesque Cambridge.
Today I'm sharing some of my favorite DSLR photos.
Late last year we spent a relaxing day at Kew Gardens.
I even took the macro lens which hasn't been out in way too long.
Matt is so patient with me. I was all wrapped up in the colors and textures.
Here are some Macro shots from the day.
I'd love to know which one is your favorite.
I'll have several mores posts in this series.
Have you ever experimented with a Macro lens?

I Spy Friday featuring Macro
You know when you have those times in life where everything is good,
but something just feels off? I've been experiencing that for the past week or so.
Nothing major to stress about but I feel antsy and nervous. I've even been having anger dreams where I'm always yelling at people. It's frustrating because I can't really put my finger on the cause. I'm really missing my family, so maybe is homesickness manifesting in a weird way or maybe it's adjusting to not working.
Can anyone relate? Any suggestions?

We are leaving today for a quick weekend on the beach in Portugal.
Maybe I'll have some quiet time by the pool with a book to unplug and shake it off.
(I realize it's ridiculous to say I'm having a bad day and
I'm going to Portugal in the same breath, but there you go.)
In the mean time, I will leave you with some macro photos.
With the arrival of Spring, it was time to take the camera out into the courtyard
to see what I could come up with. I hope you like them.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
It's nice to know that you're there, especially on the wonky days.

Anne Hathaway's Gardens... up close
Twice in one day, I subjected TE to a session with the Macro lens.
The weather and venue could not have been better.
Here's what the lens came up with at Anne Hathaway's Cottage...
Have I mentioned that I'm madly in love with this lens?
xoxo
Selena
